First Love
First date??? First Kiss??? First Love... people always remember their firsts, its like a permanent tattoo that cannot be removed. Everyone of us has an own story of our first love whether its happy or a painful ones. I remember when my lolo tells me the story of his first love, And how he felt that day when they met, his facial reaction when the girl look at him, and even what the girl looks like. Its amazing how he remembers every inch of details despite of his old age! But in the end he married my lola which hehe! obviously not his first love.
The person to marry is not the person you love most...but instead the person you love second-most. There are people who say that sort of thing and look pleased with themselves. But we don't know who will gonna spend the rest of their lives just being with us. forever.
When we meet our first love we always hope and think its gonna be the first and the last, but sadly it rarely happens in reality..sadly. tsk tsk tsk! whew!:(

Fruitcake
Ah 1990's..this is the time were the music scene here in the Philippines are very healthy! Alternative band's are coming out like a mushroom. On posters, radio, tv commercials, movies.. it's music everywhere! Well I guess because in that era there is no piracy, that time, music is thriving like a virus in a human body.
Among the top leading virus is the music of ERASERHEADS, it penetrates to the mind and bones of every Filipino youth at that time. Also it easily spread throughout the entire archipelago because it is an airborne type of virus. But unlike any ordinary airborne virus that easily dissipates into the the air, this type virus remains up to now, up to this generation.
Their immortality is basically due to their music that reaches so far back and points so far forward that it succeeds in the realization of present.
Lately Eraserheads craze once again heard in the air. Just like an echo..it goes on and on! Coz they had a reunion concert last month, but sadly on climax of that concert Ely got sick and i don't know the reasons why and the concert was stopped..but according to my sources heheh! the concert last month made it very big, that they didn't even expect it gonna be very successful..so they decided to have part 2 of that concert! And if this Eraserheads reunion concert part 2 will gonna happen, I think its a must see concert for us!
But For me?? the music of Eli, Buddy, Marcus, and Raimund will be in the hearts of every Filipino to this generation and to the next, they made OPM great in any possible way that a Filipino artist could do! They made life simple through their music, they teach us what love is, what a friend is, and what will be our perspective in life is. that..

life is like a stage play..
Sometimes we need to pretend, whether we like it or not. Just like a concert or stage play, you can see the play was very good, the artist are performing well, the lights are perfect..fabulous!
but at the backstage every one's having a hard time, you can see them having troubles, last minute change, crew miscommunication and sometimes worst..crew accidents!
But in the end of the show it all seems..perfect!
Just like us..sometimes, pretending we are happy and ok..but we are not, sad but that's the truth..But like a stage play "the show must go on!" and in the end?? all becomes
PERFECT!;)

This is not an album of oasis definitely maybe...but a movie all about love and the happiness of being part of it!
If you had a failed relationships before and thinking that now is the time to be happy with someone you love this movie is just for you..:)
Starring Ryan Reynolds A 30-something Manhattan dad in the amidst of divorce when his 10 yr old daughter Maya began asking question about his life before marriage. Maya wants to know exactly everything how her parents met and fell in love.
In short this movie for me is basically all about falling in love, and finding happiness to the person that is very special to you.

WOW!
Im in a tatoo parlor, I requested a circle tribal black tattoo to put it on my side in the rib cage part.. strange! coz I cannot feel the pain when the needle punch thru my skin. Instead of pain, it feels like feather rubbing thru my skin. Then suddenly I feel sleepy i dont know why..
after an hour of sleeping I woke up, then to my surprise! the tatoo was not black but rather blue..like the kind of blue used in panda ballpen! I was very angry! I said:
Me: Bakit blue toh??
Tattoo artist: Sorry sir naubusan kami ng black ink..
Me: Eh pano toh?!
Tattoo Artist: Kung gusto nyo sir balik na lang kayo sa ibang araw may black ink na kami nun..and marami kami patterns para matatooan ulit nmn kayo.
Me: huh!!!!!!!!!!
Then suddenly I woke up, I starred blankly to the ceiling..shocked..
Then I quickly check my side to see if theres a blue tribal tattoo marked in there.. to my surprise theres no tatoo!
Whew! Thank GOD its only a dream!:D

awit ng pagkakaibigan..
On one interview at MYX LIVE Rico Blanco main songwriter/vocalist of Rivermaya says:
So isa syang...AWIT NG PAGKAKAIBIGAN.
Rico's right! friends are like Elesi..when you are in heat, the elesi(AKA propeller) of electric fan is always there blowing you all day long drying your sweat up! and when mosquitos bite you around your legs..just one click and whooosh! the elesi will blow them away!
Sweat and mosquito's are like problems in life..sticky, itchy, dirty and most of all annoying..well goodthing elesi=friends are always there..trying and helping to BLOW YOUR PROBLEMS AWAY!
Mabuhay ka Sir Rico!

Walk Don't Run!
Yesterday my drummer called me and said that he want to go to our house and he will bring something to eat or drink well i said "sige ayos yan bilisan mo!". Then after an hour he texted me and said that he's at the gate waiting. So I jumped up, and go outside to see if he's really there then to my surprise! he really did bring something to eat you know what?? hehehe DEL MONTE PINEAPPLE SLICES haha! He said that this Pineapple Slices is good combination for GSM blue hehe..so we decide that we're gonna buy GSM blue with pineapple juice for the sake of kwentuhan hehe!
Well we had a couple shots until he said that he texted jesse our bassist to be here with us..so i said "ayos yan para mas marami tayo!". After an hour jesse arrived and said "txt ko na rin si mico para dagdag satin hehe!" and i said "sige kaya lang paubos na GSM and pineapple natin eh, if ever dagdagan na lang" then he said "ok lang yan"
To make the story short..mico arrived at the gate of my house and said "ano naubusan na ba ako?" i said "dpa tol meron pa one bottle". So mico and i go inside the house to continue the unfinished session..after an hour Mico sipped the last shot of GSM Blue with the twist of pineapple..and then he said "ano ubos na so bili tayo last bottle" so the 4 of us decided to buy the it on our suking tindahan.
But its 2:30 in the morning that time so jesse said "pare sarado na yun sa iba na lng tayo bumili" so i said "sa Mercury n lang tayo yun na lang ang bukas walking distance lang yun" so we go to mercury drugstore by walking to buy pineapple juice and couple of snacks. Then after that we decided to stroll again for fun hehehe! So in short, in the middle of our journey going home, we passed at an old house w/ a rusty gate and has a sign that says "BEWARE OF DOGS".
We didn't notice the gate was open, so the dog got out and barking at us, i try to be calm just making sure that i watched my back while walking. Wanli joking and try to imitate the dogs bark, then Jesse whispered at me while walking and said "Ano kaya takbo tayo hehe?!"
I dont know what got into my mind why i suddenly run!? just like domino effect BOOM!..the whole barkada running wild like our lives depends on it! then Wanli decided to cross the street while running for his life, until he notice the dog was not chasing us but rather chasing him hehehe so he run as fast as he can like whirlwind! while sayin "aaaaaaaaaaaaaay!"
Luckily the dog got tired and stop chasing him hehehehe..we laugh like hell at the middle of the street! well the lesson??

RULE OF DISCRIMINATION!
"sandali lang bawal pumasok dto nakashorts at tsinelas, paalam ka sa guard dun sa exit, dun ka pumasok.."
I heard this dialog on one security guard talking to guy near the entrance of PRC..the guy said "sige na manong sandali lang ako kunin ko lang license ko.." the guard said: "hindi nga kasi bawal nga yang suot mo, patingin nga ng stab mo?" the guy gave the claiming stab to the guard "oh yan window 13 ka pa pala sa loob yan, pagpasok mo dun.. sisitahin ka din.." the guy said: "kaya nga po nakikiusap eh..dko namn alam na may dresscode pa pala hangang dito.." finally the guard said "ocge pumasok ka na pro sa susunod wag mo na uulitin ha??"
whew! what is that rule?! you cannot get your professional license if you are wearing shorts and slippers?! that's a RACIST RULE! and besides there's no sign that says "BAWAL ANG NAKASHORTS AT NAKA TSINELAS" and one thing this is a free country you can wear anything you like except govt. official uniform..right? whew!

1970's
Yup that's 1970's! that's the time when your mom and dad still dating each other, while attending a shindig party! groovy isn't it?? If time machine is real, i want to use it and go to 1970's where rock and roll lives! hehe! that all we can hear is people shouting "Give Peace A Chance":)
According to the stories of my father, back in the 70's Quezon City and Manila has a different setting and environment, the people were more disciplined. Imagine that time, people used to walk on pedestrian lane only! while crossing the street, unlike now you can cross anywhere you like hehehehe! And the environment?? Before in Manila rarely you can see a trash on the streets and in public places. But now as you can see, Quezon City and Manila are like hell! polluted air, poor sanitation, and much worst growing population.
But there's a disadvantage living in the 70's, remember this is the time were President Marcos implement Marshall law, one of the darkest time in Philippine history. Just imagine, you were a ordinary college student who were studying in one biggest university in the Philippines, suddenly on one fine day while hanging out with your friends, 3 people try to arrest or kidnapped you and said you were accused of rebellion against government..and then POOF! your gone even your friends or your family didn't know what happen to you except for the people that kidnapped you. And you've belong to growing list desaparecido here in Philippines.
But for me 70's in general is a cool era, the fashion, people, music, cars etc. and no matter what, i still want to be there, to see what it's look like!
ENJOY!
In 1973 this is the view from Cultural Center. but today, in this place, all you can see is the huge Mall of Asia..hehehehe
The good ol kalesa back in 1973..
According to my sources this is Farmers Market in Makati 1973 LOL!
This is the Auto Mat in makati were you can buy automobile parts, Just like Banawe St. in quezon city..
Magnolia Plant in Aurora Boulevard back in 73, i remember when i was in prep we had a fieldtrip here in this place, we learned how to make Ice Cream hahahaha!
Manila Bay 1973:
Look at Manila in 1973 it's all brand new! hehehe I think it's Roxas Boulevard, but back then it's called Dewey Boulevard. But now its simply Bay Walk hehehe!
I guess this is in Ortigas back in 73
Look at this! this is Cubao back in 1973. see the Shell gas station?? it's now Mcdo! But now if you turn right to the street near Shell you will hit the Diamond Jeepney station hehehehe! one thing, did you notice? there's no jeepney! hmmm!
Taft Avenue daw in 1973. The wall is the old PGH wall. I think it's still there.. Look at the pants! ASTIG mo Repapips! LOL!
Look at the Taxi in 1973 hehehehe
I think this is Makati from Mandaluyong..the large building on the left is now a shopping center, but i dont know the name, and can you see the Xerox billboard?? its now Cafe Lupe..but I think its already gone..
Confirmed this Delta in Quezon Avenue back in 1973, i think that waiting shed is still there..hehehe
1973 Somewhere in makati daw..

Folktales
Well here in the Philippines specially in the provinces you will heard about different stories, myths, legends, and other unusual things, (examples: mananagals, kapre, dwende etc.) that everyone can stop and say: eto nga! onli in d Philippines!:) Ever heard the stories of Maria Makiling, Bernardo Carpio or Malakas at si Maganda?? I think you heard or seen about this stories, from your lolo's and lola's, or maybe just reading comic book somewhere in National Bookstore, while standing and waiting for your bf or gf..right??! hehehehe!
Most of us heard this stories i guess, but not in a complete detail, and most of this stories that we heard of are edited trough generations, sad but true. For me, we are now living under the influence western culture. Most of the kids today did not know about our alamats, and the stories we inherit through our ancestors. It is totally forgotten (ika nga nila sa tagalog.. naitago na sa baol ng panahon)
But on the bright side here I am, trying to do nationalistic act to free somehow, the generation of today (specially you reading my blog) against the influence of Peter Pan and Captain Hook or Frodo Baggins hehehehehe.. and promote our alamats, and folklore by writing this blog:)
Ever been into bohol?? were you can find the beautiful chocolate hills, the Tarsier and one the most beautiful but small island called Panglao, Balicasag and Pamilacan. Well if im going to choose were should i spend my summer vacation Boracay or Bohol??? i definitely choose Bohol..were i could relax and chill! not like in Boracay..were all you can do is bar hopping, drinking hehehehe...
Did you know that Bohol has its Myth?? well this is southern version of Maria Makiling..enjoy!
The mouse tried also and failed. Finally, the Big Toad volunteered: "I will try".

somewhere in qc..
Composed of four college student, who has only one dream..and that dream???? Well just like any amateur bands dream..is to perform in a big concert, hmm.. maybe like Fete De La Musique, Vans Warp tour or Pulp Summer Slam, well there's nothing bad of dreaming! hehehe
They began doing cover songs eversince they started playing, covering pop songs with a crisp of distorted guitar called punk is their genre. But sometimes they're covering reggae songs..reggae with a twist!
Their influence?? Bob Marley, New Found Glory, Allister, Spunge, Green Day, Sublime, Radiohead, The Moldy Peaches, Beatles etc..
Sometimes they are performing in school events, invited in a small underground gigs, parties etc..
Recently they're trying to write couple of song's one or two maybe for the sake of having fun..
Having a female vocalist is one of the band's frustration eversince, a female vocalist who knows how to sing reggae and punk rock songs, and can play in front of a crowd without any hesitation..anyone hehehhehe???? well here in our country its hard to find girl with charisma in the audience and likes punk rock songs with pinch of self confidence in front of a crowd..
Hopefully they can find one..
Currently the bands name is Nutribun, named after a bread where it is given to the elementary students during Marcos time to prevent malnutrition among filipino children. But someone told the vocalist after seeing their video on youtube that there was this band having the same name just somewhere in antipolo..so they decided to change the name of the band.
Up to this day they were undecided about the name of their band...
His friends call him Juanli also known as Juanlino to others but for us its WANLI..who loves to sleep, drink, sleep and drink specially San Mig Light hehehhe..
He can also play the guitar..
Home is his favorite hangout place..
Former vocalist of an underground death metal band called Red Liver..
Currently taking nursing in one of the colleges here in QC..
Vans is his favorite shoes..Sandugo is his favorite slippers
Has a yaya named Rosalie also known as Saleng hehehe...
His a silent type of guy..
Has a car named Madeline..
They call me Josh but my complete name is Joshua..

We Are The Champion!
The BOSTON CELTICS crush the LA LAKERS with an advance 39 points leaving Hollywood stars like Jack Nicholson etc. very sad:( This NBA finals is one of Greatest Game in the NBA, coz the Celtics making their comeback in the finals.
After 22 long years, The NBA has gone green said said Tom Withers, AP sports writer.
And also the Celtics made history in Game 4 after beating Lakers in their home court with 24 points deficit in the first quarter. Before that game in Game 4, no other team in the NBA will win after having a 15 point deficit in first quarter. Well the Celtics did! whew!
Sadly I'm LA LAKERS fan:( since Magic Johnson's time. There was a time when i was in highschooll, when we play baskeball one of my friend asked me "why is it everytime you dribble the ball you moved backwards instead of forward?" I said "that was Magic's style of defense! hehe."
The 2008 NBA Finals are over and nothing can ever change that. But for us Lakers fans NEXT YEAR is OUR YEAR! don't ever ever FORGET THAT! hehehehe and in 2009 the NBA HAS GONE YELLOW! again BAM!

Old Rivals
Since the Begining of 1980's baskeball began to develop into a higher level. The players became more athletic than before compare it to 1950's and 60's style of playing. Everythings has changed except the basketball jersey that they are wearing, remember the short shorts hehehe..and Highrise socks wow! with matching Old school Converse basketball shoes!! OLD SCHOOL ROCKS!
But like the old saying says "every generation has its legend" so..that generation of basketball rise the name Magic Johnson and Larry Bird. If its NBA Finals back in the 80's then Its Larry Bird's Boston Celtics and Magic Johnson's LA Lakers! But history repeats itself, now its 2008 and the old rivals of basketball meet again in The Finals, this time Its Kobe Bryant's LA Lakers and Kevin Garnet Boston Celtic.
Old rivals never dies and there can only be one champion..who's gonna win?? LA or Boston??
what do you think????

Choc-Nut
America has its Reese's Pieces, Europe has its Kinder Schokolade. The Philippines well... hehehe has its one and only Choc-Nut! where you can find it in Sari Sari store, Grocery's etc. Its not a special sweet like I mentioned before..but it sells like a box office hits tickets! one of the best selling pinoy chocolates for years.
You know your a Filipino if you are craving for this small chocolate wrapped in a tiny foil ( palara in tagalog) with a stripped red white recycled paper. Its one of my favorite local chocolate, the best! I remember when I was 8 yrs of age, i can empty one pack of Choc-Nut in one seating! hehehe that is when i was a kid..
This tiny chocolate was made with mixed roasted peanuts, cane sugar, milk powder, cocoa powder, and artificial flavoring. As its covers says KING, for me it has a meaning.. it means King of all Filipino chocolates. hehehe
If you go to abroad specially in the United States and find a Filipino store you will find a Choc-Nut and I WILL ASSURE THAT! hehehhee..Every Balikbayans I know want to buy a dozen or two of this delicious chocolate, this cheap delights costs about 25 pesos (half a dollar) per pack.
Most of us Filipinos grew up with this tiny delight, whether your a Fil-AM or FBI (full blooded Ilocano) hehehe..
If you are a Filipino you know why we still eat this old school mouth watering chocolate hehehe;)
